Kerryn grew up the daughter of a professor in a New England college town But her mother was a devotee of Olde England its antiques, mystery novels and vacation opportunities As a girl, Kerryn spent a year in England and another in Ireland, with several shorter trips for good measure After high school, she traveled around the British Isles with her best friend, using trains and thumbs Perhaps inevitably, they fell in love with a couple of Irish lads oh, those gorgeous accents Roaming the Rock of Cashel in the dark with your first love Totally illicit, totally romantic Her love for the man didn t last But a piece of Kerryn s heart still lives across the pond, where so many adventures took place as well as the Regency romances she loves So when the itch to write needed scratching, that s where her imagination took her Kerryn married another man, acquired a house in Florida, a dog and two children The boys have flown the coop now, but one has brought his awesome wife into the family The dogs are different, but there are still dogs And the love of her life is still at her side, trimming the hedges and dreaming up tag lines He ll never have an Irish accent, but he s amazing

As a Jane Austen and Regency era fan, I thoroughly enjoyed LEARNING TO WALTZ. The writing is elegant without being heavy-handed for modern readers. I absorbed the sumptuous descriptions and words as if a rich dessert. The characters are well developed and believable. The romance between Evan and Deborah is as sweet as it is harrowing. I felt their angst and yearnings as each waded through their past and their present to discover a meaningful future. If you’re a Jane Austen apprecianado, you’ [...]

Learning to Waltz is romance at its sweetest, with no need for extravagant storylines, eroticism or paranormal elements. The hero and heroine are true, honest people who deserve each other and deserve the happiness their love brings. I’ve read a few other reviews comparing Kerryn Reid’s book to something by Jane Austen and I have to agree. While it wasn’t a mainstream, steamy romance that I normally read, I truly enjoyed it.Full reviewhere.

A carefree gentleman saves a little boy and falls for his mother, a young widow with a troubled past and well-guarded heart. The characters in this historical romance are well drawn and engaging. Deborah Moore is an intriguing mix of vulnerability and vinegar. Her hard shell is so complete and convincing that there were times when I wanted to shake her, but she's also so sympathetic that you can't help but lover her. Evan Haverfield is an attractive herohonest, honorablebut not so "romance book" [...]

Full disclosure: I went to college with the author of this romance, so I was/am inclined to be appreciative rather than critical. That said, "Ms. Reid" won me over, even though the genre isn't typically my cup of tea. She created fully believable characters, not cardboard cut-outs; included authentic historical references (the realities of horses as transportation, what characters were reading and whom they were quoting in those days, how weather affected garments, class distinctions, etc.); add [...]

Regency Romance at its best. Loved the characters and the story. In Learning to Waltz, a young widow searches desperately for her lost child, begging the town to help with the search. A wealthy gentleman rescues her son, returning him to his mother And a warm, loving romance begins. I highly recommend this book to romance readers who love historical romances. Kerryn Reid weaves a beautiful story.

In Learning to Waltz, Kerryn Reid presents us with a different kind of heroine, a woman not a girl, who has experienced life, had a child and is now faced with grave difficulties. With few resources except her own resilient spirit, the heroine tackles her problems with courage and finds a way to turn what she's learned into the stuff of dreams. Highly recommended.

VERY GOOD REGENCY ROMANCEWe think Evan should have put Deborah over his knee and saved him and her a lot of time. Thank you for a very engaging story, Danny and Debbie Scott.

A jaded bachelor doesn't realize how lonely he is; a widow doesn't believe she has a chance at happiness. These two meet, love, retreat, and reunite in a romance set in Regency- era England. When aristocrat Evan Haverfield meets uncommon commoner Deborah Moore, she is in a panicked rush to find her missing son Julian. Evan finds the little boy just in time, near death from exposure, and takes an active, concerned role in his recovery. His escalating involvement with Julian parallels his fascinat [...]

Reviewed By Trudi LoPreto for READERS' FAVORITEIn Learning to Waltz, Kerryn Reid has written the perfect historical romantic novel. Deborah Moore is a young widow, a mother to Julian and a loner in her village. Evan Haverfeld is a rich and single heir to the Northridge estates. He has no interest in finding a wife as he is enjoying carefree living way too much. The story opens with Julian lost in the bitter cold and Deborah begging the townspeople to help her search for him. Evan hears her plea [...]
