This is exactly the kind of romantic comedy that I love!Shannon meets her best guy friend in an unusual way and when he doesn't remember her from the past, she accepts it and is determined that all they'll ever be is friends, because come on--he's "Jerkface." Nathan, it turns out, is a very decent guy--he just had a moment of being a young teen when they met.I loved the friendship these two had. They were very competitive with one another and decided to take turns planning "scary" activities for [...]

This is the third book I have read by Aubrey Mace, and I absolutely love her books!! She hit it out of the park yet again!! This book had me hooked from the first to last page! I seriously couldn't put it down! It had my laughing, cheering, yelling, and sighing! All of these are signs of a Great book! The characters in the book were fun, and Nathan was oh so dreamy! The romance and chemistry was swoon worthy! I loved the friendship of Nathan and Shannon! I loved how they always pushed each other [...]

Never judge a book by it's cover-especially this one! The cover is cheesy, but the story was a cute little love story! I read it in just a few hours. A sweet love story about finding love in an unexpected place. I love the way Shannon talks to herself-she's hilarious! Nathan becomes her best friend-despite their rocky beginning. Such a fun "dessert" readnguage: clean, heat level: super mild!

I was disappointed (given the currently high rating) that I did not enjoy this book much. The title is deceiving--the main girl is nowhere near 30. I was bothered by the whole relationship between the main characters. Additionally, the author has such a wordy way of writing that it was not a relaxing read. However, I did finish reading the book. So 2 stars.

As a little girl I used to play "wedding."I was always a beautiful bride with a pretend handsome groom. This book brought back ALL those fond memories.I LOVE weddings!I LOVE humor!I LOVE sweet romance! This book has it all and in such a fun manner!Like me, Shannon LOVES weddings! While helping serve at her best friends sisters weddingShe met (read with drama) "the gypsy aunt."The only thing Shannon loves more than a wedding is a gypsy. So what was the fortune that the gypsy predicted for Shannon?"b [...]

4.5 Stars, I loved it, it was funny, romantic, fun! I only thought the end was rushed. After all that, it ends with a "Maybe" he is the one. Really? I wanted a romantic proposal, or something like that. When she was 12, Shannon has her fortune told by an old "gypsy". She would meet her future husband at a wedding, before she turns 30. He will be wearing a silk tie. So turn the clock forward a few years and you have Shannon going to tons of weddings, hoping to meet this man. Her best friend, Nath [...]

What a fun book! When Shannon was ten years old a "gypsy" tells her that she will meet her future husband at a wedding reception and that her best friend Rachel will become a lawyer. When Nathan comes into the picture, Shannon loves planning things to do with Nathan, and vice versa, the activities just get crazier each time they go out only as "friends". But once Nathan starts showing he is interested in being more than just friends, Shannon is ready to turn and run. I love Shannon and how she t [...]

I LOVED this book! So cute and funny! My kids thought I was going insane because I kept laughing out loud sometimes hysterically! There was a point that I thought, come on, but that was short lived. The only problem was it was to short. I NEED a book about her friend now. Not to mention a book about the hot millionaire! Turn this one into a series please!!! You will not be disappointed.

this one was so much fun!!!! I couldn't put it down! more please!

    Laura
Witty characters with an original plot line. It was a delight.

    Jennie
Another fun book from Aubrey Mace, perhaps her best.

    Lauren
This was a really cute romantic comedy. Although, the ending alludes to a sequel, which there better be one, Ms. Mace!

    Tia
    It was a cute story.

    nice predictable LDS chick lit

Aubrey manages to write a fun light book, but still give her characters depth. The book is written in the first person and the author has Shannon do a lot of head talking, these are some of the best parts of the book. Her introspecting is where a lot of the humor lies. This was a fast read that gave me a few hours of escapism to laugh and enjoy someone else fumbling their way through lifeokconfessionsblog.wordpress

3 1/2 stars. This fluffy, light-hearted book was cheesy and predictable, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. It is like a Hallmark movie in book form. The title did feel a bit irrelevant as the main character is not even close to the age of 30. It would have added some drama if she was older and approaching that age 30 cut-off that the gypsy gave her. As it was, the inclusion of the age in both the title and the gypsy's fortune telling felt a bit pointless.

Loved the dialogue in this one. Very entertaining story. The characters were lovable and fun. Great clean Mormon romance. The emotion of the story really came across for me.No violence, no sex, no swearing.

My absolute favorite book. So funny!

In 5th grade a gypsey (actually, her best friend Rachel's eccentric aunt) told Shannon she'd meet her future husband at a wedding reception and he'd bewearing a silk tie. Fast forward to college and she ends up best friends with Nathan, the stinky kid that made her cry at Rachel's sister's wedding. He doesn't remember, of course, so she plays it cool and is completely unwilling to consider him as husband material because he was so mean to her as a kid. Everyone around Shannon is convinced Nathan [...]

This was such a cute book. Shannon is convinced that when she was a little girl a gypsy told her that she would meet her husband at a wedding reception before she was thirty. Little girls will believe anything when they are young. So since childhood Shannon has been convince that it will happen just that way. One day she meets a boy that she knew when she was young, and thought she would not give away who she was until he mentioned that he knew her first. This never happened. She was convinced h [...]

**4.5 stars**The comedy begins right from the beginning of the book. Shannon is the main character and the book is written in the first person from her perspective. The voice used reminds me of what I imagine a grown up Junie B might be like.Shannon attends her best friend's sister's wedding. She gets to help serve the refreshments. This is a moment that she has longed for and she is thrilled to be invited, until she meets a boy with a chip on his shoulder who spoils it for her. She also meets a [...]

While serving refreshments at the wedding of her BFF's sister, Shannon gets her future told by a gypsy; before she turns 30, she'll meet her silk tie-wearin true love at a wedding reception. That same evening she has a tear inducing encounter with the grooms rude younger brother and vows to never date anyone who will a) smash wedding cake in her face, or b) has been unkind to her. ever. Fast forward to her freshman year at university, and re-enter Jerkface (aka: the grooms rude younger brother, [...]

This was a fun book. Light-hearted, maybe a little cheesy, and totally predictable, but so cute that I didn't want to put it down. For some reason the "falling in love with your best friend" books make my heart happy. The dialog was fun, the situations were hilarious, and the feelings were real. Although, I can't imagine ever being in Shannon's situation or shoes, and sometimes I thought, "Really? You don't see this?" I did remind myself that I am incredibly naive and I probably would have thoug [...]

So. I went into this book with extremely low expectations. Not that I had previously heard anything about it, but because books of this particular genre (Mo-fic chick-lit, as we called it back when I was in the book business) are typically WAY too corny for me. That having been said, I enjoyed this book. It was fun. Good, clean fun. Frustrating at times, but just in the way that dating can be frustrating in real life. The characters were believable; they actually could have been real people, whi [...]

I had the pleasure of meeting this author and I didn't realize that I've read a few of her books before! Very cute story and I loved all the kooky adventures they went on! Very funny at times but I wanted to smack them at times for being so clueless about each other! I think the title was a bit misleading as the main character was in her early 20's and I thought it might be more about someone my age but overall a cute, fun read! Here's hoping the author creates one with a girl in her 30's findin [...]

I liked this story better when it was called Only You, it happened in Italy, and it had Robert Downey Jr. in it. Seriously, though, this is one of those stories where the heroine is annoyingly blind from about page 20. She even has long conversations with her inner voice where the inner voice is saying exactly what I wanted to say to her, and she ignores it for some reason that I never really understood. Definitely a skimmer--I was just interested enough to do that so I could see how it ended, e [...]

I picked this up for a fun, quick read and ended up enjoying it much more than I thought I would. It was clever, witty and very well written. I think it would make a great Romantic comedy! I loved Shannon and Nathan's quirky relationship. There were some frustrating moments as well as some super cute ones! I liked that even though this book takes place at BYU, it wasn't super churchy. The characters were very down to earth and lovable. This was a great love story and I read it in one day because [...]

This was a really fun book! I loved the characters. Shannon is great, I loved seeing the world through her perspective. I liked Nathan too, I really liked the way that they would challenge each other to do things that were hard for them. The plot was fun, I found myself totally engrossed and not wanting to put the book down. Aubrey Mace is really great at writing books where the characters and situations feel real!
