Irritating. Had hallmark of excellent thriller. Good writing, good suspense the spoiled by pathetic actions by heroine, then settled down to a romance with all knowing strong silent type who romanced the female doc who fell for it hook line & sinker. God give me strength in the 21st century

Another great mystery by Sandra Brown. This well-weaved novel starts out with an excellent beginning that draws you into the story immediately. From beginning to end you wonder who is out to get successful Pediatrician, Dr. Emory Charbonneau. A woman born into wealth who uses her money to help others. Is it her cheating husband, one of her co-workers, or one of the men who live up in the mountains of North Carolina where she's decided to get in some running.

I wasn't sure what to expect of this book by Sandra Brown. This is my first time reading her writing. But I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The title is somewhat misleading I think. But since this is a mystery book I guess that's fitting.Emory Charbonneau is a pediatrician who goes missing while running on a trail. When she wakes up in a mountain cabin with a stranger who won't let her leave, she draws all sorts of conclusions. But as we eventually find out, she drew all the wrong conclusions. Sti [...]

Emory, a doctor, wife, philanthropist, and avid long distance runner is unconscious on a mountain when picked up and saved by a mystery man. He cares for her in a remote mountain cabin for days in dreadful winter weather, but she is threatened as well as cared for as he will tell her nothing about himself, even his name. Attacking him to escape is futile. After four days leaving him forever is also futile, but he drops her off to be “found” and live her life. In the mean time, her husband is [...]

So, I was looking for a new book to start and I came across this on good reads with high stars, So I thought I'd give it a try. At first I was not really keen about how the title was to fit the book, but by the end I understood why she chose that title. Overall, the book does have many twists and turns which keeps the reader interested and looking forward to the next chapter. At times, the plot makes many unpredictable turns to keep you guessing how it will turn out. Overall, I truly enjoyed the [...]

This was my first Sandra Brown book and I have read more because of this one. I really enjoy the strong female character and the feistiness she has. I honestly thought I had this book figured out in the beginning but then things change and I changed by thoughts. I enjoy how Brown can get your mind going in so many different directions. I have read other books of hers but so far, this is still my favorite.

A thriller! Doc Emory met a fugitive and fell in love with him. He lived in a cabin in the bush. He found her on a trail wounded. Lots of twists and turns in the story and a very surprising ending. Thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Another suspenseful thriller by Sandra Brown. I loved the twists and turns. The ending was predictable but it couldn't have ended any other way so it's all good.

I've read quite a few of Sandra Brown's books. They were all ok. Envy was the only one that was really great. This was a close second. Read it in two days, tough to put down!

Great suspense and intrigue. Characters weren't very believable and the protagonist doctor was unappealing.

I couldn't put this book down, very suspenseful. Was Doc's mystery man a murderer, kidnapper or hero?
